eve took a shit
wait you mean jita actually was up today?
Why the hell are you based in Jita?
I was based in Jita because I was fitting half a dozen new ships, and it's just easier to do it there because you can get pretty much anything there, at the best price.
The fittings were completed yesterday and I then moved to a new system about 5 jumps away to a decent agent and am now running missions.
For fitting out big ships with lots of equipment there's no better place to do it, but once you're done get the hell out as fast as you can.
The answer is to directly link the markets of Jita and the 5 or so connected systems into a massive market where anything on station one can be bought and picked up at another. Just say it's made possible by extremely rare and super expensive, high tech transporter technology on loan from the Jove, for the RP purists. That would spread the load between 5-6 systems and the several stations in them, rather than having roughly 40% of the total trade in EvE being out of one single station.

Interbus is going to need to be an instant delivery system, at least for a few jumps out from Jita in The Forge. People want stuff now, that's why they go to Jita. They're not going to wait, so any system that involves waiting makes Interbus fairly useless for resolving the Jita problem. At best it would be a way to slowly move unimportant items, which we already have (courier missions).Screw that, they should enable the interbus system. It was goign to be a delivery system that would have unnamed, unmarked packges be deliverable by teh service via pilots. Going somewhere, check to see if interbus package needs a delivery, pick up a few bucks.
The trick I'd propose, is have a region-wide volume target. Everything always gets delivered on time so long as there's enough pilots running enough km/3. Doesnt matter if someone doesnt take a 'pakcage' directly to the station you were at, so long as someone, somewhere, moved all the required volume on a given day/week/month. People could pay a premium to get shit delivered.
Why the hell did I just write all that? Hmm, my shells and cheese are done now, toodles.
