Im back in cheltenham.
Ran into a bunch of folks from Wales (who just beat England in Rugby) and I am the proud owner of a new Wales scarf. Made it all the way back from the pub to the hotel without a fight
Anyone here in the area?

I love it here. I have had nothing but nice people to deal with and great atmosphere in the pubs I have visited.

The UK is fun for a week or so. Makes you feel really glad you live in America though.

I live in Cheltenham, but before I offer advice I would like suggestions as to what to do in a quaint island called America, I hear things are so different over there that they even drive on the WRONG side of the road!
Also I have the house to myself this week but you sound too rapey to have over.

I have to go back to the UK in a couple of weeks, just for a visit to see my old man, he's pretty sick. Will be there about 2.5 days, which is about 2.47 days too long. ****ing ****hole.

Just had some good curry at Indian Voojan.
do people here not go out for dinner until 8pm or something? Most of the restaurants were pretty dead.

The way eating out works in most of Europe is that it costs a ****load, therefore mostly people in the upper-middle to elite class eat out. Since they usually start working around 9-10am - as opposed to the peasants who start working at 5-8am - and hence get out from work around 5-6pm, the restaurants start seeing activity only after that time.
HTH.

alrighty then. I was wondering why I was the only one in the place at 5:45. I walked by last night and it was packed to the gills.

5:45 - most places would be dead, there are a couple of really nice Thai places around montpellier that I would recommend. The wine bar there also has a good selection of beers (and Aspalls cider on tap)
