[Tribes] Why isn't there a Tribes voicepack addon for WoW?

I'm not sure how many people would use such a thing, but I've got to imagine a lot of people would, at least here. Places like PVP and some of the boss fights, old T1 voice commands would be fun and perhaps even useful.

Discuss? Anyone happen to write addons?

I remember the StK guys used that 5150 soundpack ported over for WoW. However, not sure if it had some of the original T1 sounds in it.

you have to type in strings to get the 5150 voicepack to work

i don't know if it's possible to write a vchat for wow

Last time I used the 5150 pack in general chat I received a 3 hour account suspension, I don't even have it installed anymore.

There used to be a UT soundpack that would play music for ~30 seconds every time you engaged in a PvP fight. I took the the T2 music, cut it up into 30 second segments and replaced the UT files with those. Not sure if the addon is still around, that was around the time BWL came out.

I still have a version of it somewhere though it probably got deleted from Filefront when they shut down for a couple days.

The port is crude and as someone already mentioned it requires typing in strings beginning with $vb2 or whatever the equivalent command was in Tribes. I did not port the default Tribes sounds, just the added ones.

If you are interested PM me and I'll try to dig it up.

I just fixed the original and added the Male 1 voice commands from T1 to it.

The shortcut convention is the same as T1, just with a $ before it. eg. $vav or $vgx
