gut all subsidies for big oil.
if prices reflected what they actually should be, without subsidization and endless bailouts, perhaps alternative energy would be at a price advantage.
then it wouldn't need any tax money. it would stand on its own. we wouldn't be *****ing about more solyndras and broken window spending fallacies.
or you know...give the government more money to squander with their proven cronyism.

the idea that government funded research is a "bastard step child" is an idiotic notion pushed by idiots like you.
who are the same idiots that go through their day to day life using such technology with complete ignorance about how it was invented.
**** you people are so ****ing stupid. it's depressing.

You don't get a nuclear powered aircraft carrier unless one subset of the energy industry receives monumental amounts of government funding. Just like you don't get to complain about the government subsidizing one subset of an industry on the internet without the government subsidizing one subset of an industry to produce the internet. You should really be protesting government spending by walking (not on the federal transportation network of course, in the dirt) to the capital and scrawling whatever broken english you've cobbled together onto a clay tablet to deliver your puritan message of laissez faire to the masses.

there is how things should be and how they actually are.
government funded research doesn't have to be wasteful and insanely inept, but then again neither does the assholes in our government doling it out.
sadly...what we want and what we get are becoming two different things.
Obama's alternative energy bankruptcies - Oct. 22, 2012
sadly people like you think we are still capitalistic...not a cronyism form of corporatism

whats depressing is how confident you are that you are right. that you know everything (or anything from my view point).
given the reality of the bull**** you constantly espouse in here, I can't help but laugh at the insane ignorance of what you believe goes on in the world around you.

It takes a real pea-brain to go on a government funded internet, using government subsidized communications networks, to claim the correct way to make the world a better place is to have developed none of this to begin with. Its a blind faith that somehow, through the free market alone, we would be anywhere close to the point we are technologically without a drop of government funding into any other industry.
