I totally agree with it in concept, as the harrier is aging quickly... but in this time, under this administration at least... its difficult to see the F-35 get funding... Let alone the Navy call (Marines) for a VTOL version.

the marines are a separate branch from the navy

also, the british navy and air force are also purchasing this, as they dont have full size carriers.

other navies may buy it for the same reason
