We assessed effectiveness by comparing people who had been vaccinated with those who had not been vaccinated across all BMI categories. Vaccine protection was slightly lower in people with underweight, who were also less likely to be vaccinated. When investigating severe COVID-19 outcomes in the vaccinated cohort, people with underweight and those with obesity remained at greater risk of hospitalisation or death from COVID-19 than people who are a healthy weight, even after a second dose of the vaccine."

it's actually quite good evidence of the vaccine actually working to prevent hospitalizations and deaths.
