Looked around just to be safe, nothing that should have legitimately set it off was anywhere to be found.

Can't unplug the damn thing because it violates apartment safety code.

So much for a quiet evening...

It violates apartment code but you can't use the apartment if its constantly going off. Unplug it or remove the batteries. Deal with it when you have the time.

No gas lines in here. This is Florida, after all.

I'm not sure how long it takes carbon monoxide to knock you out, but this has been going on for almost 15 minutes now, so I'm pretty sure I should be unconscious by now. Being as I'm not, I'm almost certain it's not a gas leak. :f

Meh. I'd rather not risk it. My foresight's not exactly keen.

Plus, I would assume they'd at least keep a brief log about swapping out the batteries and crap.

If the alarm is going off (like really going off) it's not a low battery.

If it's beeping every 30 seconds it's a low battery.

don't they sometimes have detectors for that strange cancer causing radiation that makes you impotent, although i heard if you can hear it you have a 99% probability that you will never achieve an erection again.
