A couple build notes:
The Fractal Torrent Compact case is super nice. I picked the smoked glass RBG version as it was actually cheaper than the non RGB. Case prices are fluctuating wildly right now
Just the right size and the easiest case I've built in.
Full size ATX
MSI PRO Z690-A WiFi checked all the boxes, and was cheaper than the non wifi/ non blue tooth version during Prime days. Here it is with CPU and memory installed.
I went with a
single stick of 32gb ddr5 memory and a
12600kf i5 processor. The next gen intel chips are confirmed to fit this board, and most likely 14th gen. The 12th gen i5 is faster than last gens i9 by quite a bit. Plus the gains from ddr5 should give this setup at least a few years of life.
RTX 3080TI from EVGA. Prices were stupid the last few years, but are finally reasonable. 4th gen GPU's will probably launch at twice what I paid for this. If they are ever available.

Yes, the
Noctua NH-D15 chromax. is super quiet and looks nice.
It's also huge!
Quite a tight fit, and I almost didn't put on the second fan as it's right above the memory slots. My single memory stick is up against the second fan, but isn't causing any problems. I may slide the fans away from the motherboard, or wait until I get more memory.
Speaking of tight fit, the CPU power cables were a cocksucker. I ended up Pulling the board back out to connect them. The connect to the upper left side of the board next to the CPU cooler and IO connectors. I could have connected them without puling the board, but I wanted them tucked in nicely.
I'll probably do some more cable management, as the GPU power cable looks stupid there.
M.2 boot drive is a
SAMSUNG 980 PRO SSD 2TB Just about the fastest available, and the motherboard will run it. It was 'half off' during prime days.
The Motherboard has 2 'Rainbow' RBG connectors, and one RBG connector. They are not the same, so be sure if you want rbg that the mobo connectors are compatible.
