Who said different? I think the fact that they signed him to a 1 year deal with $3M guaranteed shows you exactly what they think of Lacy.

After signing Brian Hoyer, Pierre Garcon, Marquise Goodwin, Kyle Juszczyk, Logan Paulsen, Macolm Smith, Matt Barkley, Aldrick Robinson, Brock Coyle, Don Nelson and Robbie Gould, San Francisco still has the most cap room in the NFL.

Most cap space remaining, per official NFL accounting:
49ers: $73.9M
Browns: $61.4M
Jaguars: $47.0M
Titans: $42.3M
Raiders: $41.6M
lol

i don't mind they're just filling up on middle of the road FA's, since they have so many goddamned holes to fill

it's amazing how much cap room they still have left

yeah but those FAs are hard to even call middle of the road. Your big QB signing was Hoyer?

I actually like what SF is doing. Churn the roster, have a couple good drafts, and they can be right back in it. Bring in as many (relatively) affordable players as they can and see who sticks.

Patriots re-signed ILB Dont'a Hightower to a four-year, $43.5 million contract with $19 million guaranteed.

The Jets' birthday cupcakes to Hightower earlier this week weren't enough to convince him to sign with their league-worst franchise, while the Steelers never seemed to be a serious contender. All roads led back to New England. Hightower's market didn't develop quite like he had hoped, and the Patriots were able to keep their 27-year-old inside thumper after trading away ILB Jamie Collins to the Browns last season. Hightower was Pro Football Focus' No. 5 inside linebacker out of 59 qualifiers in 2016, receiving plus marks across the board for his pass rush, coverage, and run defense. Everything seems to be working in the Patriots' favor this offseason. They probably have more up their sleeve.

Falcons signed NT Dontari Poe, formerly of the Chiefs, to a one-year, $8 million contract.

Another $2 million is available through incentives. Poe picks the Falcons over Oakland, Miami, Indianapolis, and Jacksonville. Turning 27 this year, Poe was picked No. 11 overall in 2012 by the Chiefs when now-Falcons assistant GM Scott Pioli was running the show in Kansas City. In Atlanta, Poe will replace another former Chiefs first-rounder Tyson Jackson, who was released last week. Poe's name has become bigger than his game, but he's still a solid addition up front. The Falcons will probably cut Poe's snaps a bit after he was nearly an every-down player in K.C. His back has been giving him trouble for years.

Well, his morphing list of potential landing spots now appears to be centering on the Raiders, with a league source adding the Green Bay Packers as a possible dark horse in the mix after losing Lacy to the Seattle Seahawks.
