Not(A and B) is equivalent to Not(A) or Not(B), so Not(C) => Not(A) or Not(B)

I think maybe step 1 is learning what a monopoly is and then forming an opinion

do we trust the EU and UN who already ruled on this?

or do we pretend we don't give a **** about what they have to say because of political expediency

this is like sexual assault and i guess it depends on what day it is

im not sure we're using the correct definition of monopoly here

most of north americas telecom is an oligopoly if anything

and regardless of EU or UN rulings, or having a dominant market position, you can still use the internet without having to use chrome/google/youtube

semantics, i know

(((oligarchy))) u say

These 6 Corporations Control 90% Of The Media In America - Business Insider

holy **** groove that is just wrong

but seriously.....the more you boil it down the more u realize that a few people pretty much control everything and that little you say or do will ever change that

and groove i totally agree that sat sux

but my options growing up in rural bum**** always sucked

local dsl is still so bad that u couldn't even watch netflix if u wanted to

and cable was like 60 bucks a month.....and had to be bundled with basic tv for over 100 a month

that makes sat internet sound great again compared to those other terribad options

u will often see honkies using their barely 1g cell phone data and it works faster than their isp way out in the boonies

these options are going to be last option if charter and comcast keep ****ing around

same way direct tv and dish killed local cable companies.....the wireless options are going to have to save the day again

https://broadbandnow.com/Fixed-Wireless

help us ob1 we need u

Google hit with record £2.1bn EU fine for abusing internet search monopoly

Google slapped with antitrust lawsuit

Google charged by EU with antitrust in Android lawsuit - Apr. 20, 2016

Google Fined Record $2.7 Billion in E.U. Antitrust Ruling - The New York Times

maybe u should read up on what legal definition of monopoly is

or how that has been historically enforced u silly supplicant

being the last to know what your loved ones is doing is kind of silly

Antitrust apparently means the same as monopoly in Teleworld.

i personally didn't read the entire ruling so i may be wrong but they don't appear to be saying google is a monopoly - they said they abused their market dominance

not really the same thing

reporters seem to be adding the 'monopoly' part, maybe as an oversimplification or to make people angry or whatever other motivation they may have

u should come visit

i will save u a place

everyone else on Earth u know is hanging out there (whether they know it or not)

United States antitrust law - Wikipedia

Antitrust law legal definition of antitrust law

at&t and standard oil would love to know that they were so wrongly persecuted and subsequently split apart

that having another options, whom they often interfered or colluded with, still wasn't your textbook definition

no wonder you guys can cry about fcc ruling AND time warner merger being purely political with same wasted breath

u dip****s have no idea what you are fighting for besides being a mindless consumerist fleeced after every fight.....far worse off after every swing and a miss

i honestly don't even know if i agree with the ruling or the lawsuit

i am just pointing out that the ruling has already been made by some

is written in stone in Europe and by EU

Why was Microsoft subject to antitrust charges in 1998?

same went for Microsoft with their browser, internet explorer, when there were viable alternatives to that to ......

i mean i know a case can be made that there are about as many independent ISP providers in the USA than there are search engines that in no way use, are optimized by, or reference GOOGLE search indexing (i mean ffs look at our own search on this site)

in fact i would argue there are far more ISP providers than search engines who completely fit that criteria (considering their market share)..........soooooooo ooo

what all this crying about? How we have so many google apologists while they cry about comcast and charter baffles me right now

that is all i do know.......and it is funny to watch

haven't been this amused since people started sucking off jobs to get back at bill gates

Net neutrality was intended to shut down intimidate and ultimately imprison Christians, and it will be used instead to clean out the likes of twitter facebook and youtube from being able to ban or otherwise silence opposition to their leftist agenda.

And if that doesn't work these big businesses will be losing in court anyways if conservatives have the balls to take them there.

That's literally the only reason it's being pushed.
Except that it also allows ISPs to better manage their networks and hence keep costs down, meaning they don't have to increase their prices to stay in business.

I'm not saying they wouldn't price gouge... but they could do that already if they wanted to. The whole "pay extra for faster content from X and Y" angle is a nice scare tactic, but it'd be a whole lot simpler for them to just say "**** it, everything now costs an extra ten bucks". Consumers are only really willing to pay up to a point.. go too high and they'll find alternatives.
