I have the water supply to do. It sent a saddle tap for a copper pipe. I have PEX so I don't think itll work on that. I think I can T the pex line and run pex all the way to the unit.

I guess a question I have is - when the A/C craigslist guy added the A/C unit to the furnace, he took that "hat" off the supply side and sat it on top of the A/C unit ( all the stuff above that grill ). (the box the air switch is now mounted to)

Should I leave that thing alone or try to round out the air flow by cutting it flat or rounding it off?

I guess I can drunkenly MSpaint the idea.

 The humidifier goes on the plenum, not the return.

I researched it a bit. Seems inconsequential where it's placed. Seems like ease of access is more important. It's a closed loop system so it's going to have humidity on both sides anyways.
