i thumbs up/down every video i watch based on whether i want 2 see more. voting-based comment systems are retarded because they fail in the same way democracy always does but for personalized content voting seems to improve recommendations. the thumbs up/down isn't directed at the creator it's directed at the algorithm.

I mostly do news through our left wing woke govt news.. and then compare the headlines and stories on other local private news sources which seem more centred and balanced - a couple times a day.

No news services on facebook or youtube. Except if I want to get a different perspective on international things I might see what WION youtube channel WION - YouTube is saying as it's good presentation and they seem to have a go at just about anyone.

Facebook, google, youtube. It's easy to click stuff you want to see and then you get ****loads of it, and flick away rubbish you don't want to see. My FB feed at the moment is full of cool images. Just got a nice message from an old school friend in another state. Also just saw a funny meme posted by someone in a quake clan 20+ years ago. I'm not going to talk politics with either of them, they how you **** up friendships.

The friends who mostly quit FB in a huff typically gravitate towards posting woke political stuff and then get so wound up and frustrated by arguments they quit. The right wingers are more likely to get regular "FB jail".

I don't do politics on FB I do it at the polling booth when I vote.
