In reality, the U.S. has been on an environment kick since the 70's, comparatively we are fairly 'clean'. But it doesn't matter how clean we are when countries like China, India and Russia give 0 ****s about the environment.
For example, every patchouli wearing hippie in this country cries about how terrible we are for our pollution that created the great pacific patch, when in reality something like 80% of that pile of **** in the ocean is from China. Japan still has nuclear reactor leaking into the ocean, there are dead bodies in the Ganges, china double digit coal power plants per month, as does russia, so yeah, we're going to be ******* deep in solar panels and electric cars crowing about how fantastic we are treating the planet while the other 3/4 of this mudball is doing its level best to **** stuff up
