Banshee was a great Tribes player. He also used to play a lot of poker. Maybe he still does. But, it's not like it was in the heyday of Poker in the US. TW had a lot of people playing at the time. We had a channel called #thenuts. We also used to play closed/private tourneys on PS for fun.

Anyway, Banshee won his way into the big Sunday tourney from a satellite. I think he spent $10. He went on to win. There was an awesome thread. Many of us were spectating his table. He played well, got into the money and there was a deal made to chop among the final 3. He won an extra 20K and ended up with the 83K. It was an exciting moment in TW history.

In an interesting twist, he only had one major suck out. I think we was AK vs KK and pulled out an A high flush on the river. And the crowd went wild...

And he wasn't someone who needed to provide his resume to provide cover for a fragile ego.

Banshee was good, but we had a couple real stud poker players here back then.
