AMD 1800X fuck smashing "all" the Intel 5960X records.

When I finally order my shit, I can do so with the utmost confidence that I made the right choice.

Pretty interesting that GTA5 still CPU limited even with 5GHz 7700k.

This beast is coming out next month(allegedly). I'm glad the stuff I wanted to buy was never in stock. I could have ended up with a pc that was only slightly better than all of yours.

Going to support quad channel DDR4-4000 and 44PCIe lanes.

I don't think I am going to have to upgrade for another 10 years.

similarly priced i7's won't exist, and if they do, it would be so unfair. You're looking at a price premium for x299 and i9's buddy.

I'm having flashbacks to that time AMD was shitting all over intel with real dual cores and all intel could do was shrink their netburst architecture and crank up the GHz to try and compensate. Until Core 2 came out and restored balance...before the dark times.

All that matters for games is IPC. Single core performance. Unless you can get the AMD chips to approach 5GHz then it's not going to beat Intel's offerings. :(

That i9-7820X looks interesting though. Best base clock/turbo clock out of the i9 offerings (base clock doesn't compare to i7 7700k/7740k, but turbo makes things competitive). Price will probably be around what the i7 6850k goes for (~$550). Shame about the lanes though (not enough for dual SLI @ 16x each, especially not if also running an NVMe M.2 SSD). Might be the perfect chip for anyone with a 1 card setup who games and also wants good multi-threaded performance though. :weird:

There aren't shit for ITX motherboards for AMD, so I had to go Intel again.

Why was AMD's release so shitty for support? Wtf were they doing? We're getting BIOS updates to properly use their CPUs, OCing DDR4 to get rid of the limiting factors, etc.

validuz, i'll try to lay it out in a familiar narrative: amd is like the government -- the whole place is kkklown town, but we as a people generally won't admit/come to terms with it because we're desperate for it to work out. we need our guy to win, and we don't care how deeply he fist fucks us to get there

They did a tiered release because they don't care about you. They put out low margin garbage first while preparing the real money for a proper release.

I love the competition though.

Intel/nVidia have been fucking us hard for years now.

I have an r9 280x.

What the fuck... it's still a pretty good GPU!

I have an i5 2500k that is overlocked... it's still very good!

Wow! It's almost as if technology has hit its physical limitations and I am some kind of fuckin' computer wizard for buying this shit five years ago!

4GHz+ 2500k still good for another year or 3. Should upgrade that video card to a RX480 or a GTX980 though.

$200... WHAT!

Everything I see is $400+!

And I just don't give that much of a shit!
