Good video from Taylor. Women want to be independent, yet they can't do it all alone. This happened after Laurie left me when Ashley was 4. Eventually Laurie gave Ashley back to me legally and I was taking care of the kid with no problems. I would take her to school, make sure her homework was done, no problems.

Watch the weight NGFM. You may have forgotten but when you fall in love you run the risk of putting on weight. That's a trap. It's a slow trap but it's a trap. Stay trim for yourself. Not just to get a woman.

Here is the unhappiness trap explained.

Guy is happy with his woman. They eat too much because life is good.

Either:
1) Both of them get overweight
2) One of them gets overweight
a. The man gets overweight
b.The woman gets overweight
3) Both have amazing metabolisms and they can eat whatever they want and not exercise without gaining weight

Let's throw #3 out as it is highly unlikely.

Scenario #1 -
You have been overweight. It makes most people feel bad. Depressed a bit. Maybe even secretly sad. If people have a hard time motivating themselves to stay fit, they have just introduced a source of unhappiness into the relationship. Some people need a major event like a breakup to get motivated. They know that. They maybe can't come out and say it but they will manufacture a situation to get there. They also know a new relationship is a dopamine engine.

"I am overweight and unhappy. Why? I know, it must be him/her!" then they start fabricating little things to justify their own laziness rather than confront it.

Now, maybe you find a couple of people that are "fat and happy" together. You know, his/hers mobility scooters. Little flags saying HIS/HERS. But, is that what you want?

2.a and 2.b is easy to analyze. The healthy one will look at the unhealthy one and get into the "I cant be with a man who doesn't care about himself". this can include going to see a doctor etc.

So, while your meal out is awesome, watch that waist line. Watch hers too. Don't let it go to far or sometimes it's too much work to take it all off again. it can take 3 years to super fit after being huge. I figure it takes only about 6 months to lose all that effort.

I have seen women who promote getting a guy fat and overweight on purpose. Why? Well, a fat man is less attractive to other women. Also, a fat man tends to stay at home and be more controllable.

You will also have to look at your band again and how that fits in with this woman's agenda. She may love that you go out and do your thing. I know couples like this. At the start, the woman will come watch her man. But, she will get bored and stop coming. I mean, even if you are married to Dave Grohl, going to the shows gets old. That can bring a wedge between the partners. Some jealousy and distrust can creep in.

Alright, whatever. I obviously care too much about TW and it's denizens and tend to offer too much advice. You are obviously in rebound mode and are still struggling to figure it out. A man tends to walk into the same traps more than once and then be surprised because he thought he knew better. The problem is the traps are sprung in slightly different ways and are sometimes self-inflicted. Don't be that guy. Don't be the guy that thought he had it all figured out and spent another 4-8 years figuring out he learned nothing.

By the time we are 80, I am not sure there are any lessons left to learn. I think the lessons are logarithmic, though. Heavily weighted to the early years and slowing down from there forward. I think we are pretty much who we are going to be by the age of 5.

Great post. I swam laps in the pool and gave blood this morning. I weigh 184. Yes, I could lose a few pounds and talked about this with the GF. Both of us want to losose weight. We make salads, drink juices, and we've eaten at the healthy places along with Flannigan's.

We exercise, but you are correct. Most of the time we're sitting around watching TV, eating, having sex, or sleeping. They talk about this in the videos. No, she's not going to change me, because that doesn't work. I'm still doing band.
