I would like to present myself as proof against your theory. For some reason, things tend to happen to me in a surprisingly roundabout way, so telling the truth typically takes longer than any lie I could come up with.

People who rely on email confrontations are pussies.

People who rely on email confrontations at work are unprofessional.

Man up and talk to him face-to-face more about this to avoid confusion.
 
Most of my college essays are completely fabricated, I easily churn out 10+ pages and usually get good grades.

It's awesome.
