Why couldn't you just open them from the top and turn them over really fast?

And for that matter, how do you generate enough torque to crank the can opener with one hand while holding it with the other? Do they make special can holders for this purpose?

None of this is adding up.

Yeah, I got it. You said that in your last post. However, despite your redundancy, I've solved this most illusive riddle: most cans have pull-tabs nowadays. I just forgot is all.
