Those things along with Maseratis are dime a dozen around Chicago.
I was looking at a few then realized how many were on the road....lost their allure.

Not the V12 manual vantage. A lot rarer. Only 1199 made and only around 400 in RHD. That's why they hold value or appreciate.

it means you shouldnt be making this decision based on other peoples opinions and suggesting a better thread than this would be the one after you bought your dream car in celebration.

you would save yourself a lot of grief if you only posted about your passions
compare your vacation, poker and car threads to your others

The UK is rapidly turning into a ****hole that I'm increasingly happy to disassociate myself from. If it wasn't for friends and family I'd ideally never go there again, there is far more of the world I'd rather spend time seeing. Apart from that you nailed it HURRDURR.

Minge, do we need to have a talk about rep again?
I felt like we were making progress.
You were coasting along doing alright.
You were not going to hit -4000 rep until about 2032.
Now, I am not so sure.

my opinion, long story short. looks amazing - iconic even. v12 manual! BUT, reliability issues. not the fastest but who cares for a GT car. if you love astons, do it. if you don't love astons, there are probably better options.
we're in different situations but i probably wouldn't buy an aston without a more recent AMG motor going forward. of course that means v8 dual clutch, so very different car

Most of these cars are selling with 15-30k miles on them. Averaging 2000 a year and I won't do more than that at least for the next 4 years, so hope that keeps the impact of reliability issues under control. The ones sold by Aston dealers come with a warranty. But yeah that's a risk and one I wouldn't take if the cost was an issue. On the flipside these cars will hold value or appreciate, so there's a tradeoff between maintenance cost and what you would get in depreciation with most newer cars in this price bracket.

not sure how the dealer warranty works but i'd extend it if possible just in case. and make sure it covers EVERYTHING. they'll try to deny coverage if there are gaps.
11 year old, low mileage exotic. whats the worst case scenario there? engine fails, cost on that v12? $50k for replacement? transmission fails, $20k? might need to just double check that on the aston forums and set aside some money for a worst case scenario. my 2 cents
my neighbors porsche macan S engine failed - "common" for early macan S using the porsche v6 before they switched to the audi. replacement cost $30k. dealers/porsche are helping a bit "in good faith". but still a "common" car much less an exotic. that cost would bankrupt many people.
