SL83's Extended and Ongoing Beer Thread

That's my favorite Triple! Although, after having it out of the bottle I was disappointed by its blandness on tap this past winter. Not sure why it totally lacked the complexity on tap... may have been mislabeled cus I tasted no whiskey or oak.
I had it on draft and the oak and bourbon was subtle. Usually I love it when it's strongly conditioned in bourbon barrels, but I think the way they pulled it off was perfect without overpowering the triple.

yeah i tried a draft version last night

i thought the oak/bourbon flavor was fairly pronounced

might have been served too cold, stored too warm, or slightly dirty tap lines

Samuel Adams Honey Porter is delicious.

I also tried Keegans Mother's Milk Sweet Stout and it is pretty decent as well.

yum

Went to a local brewery here today (Drakes) and sampled their imperial stout that had been aged in merlot barrels for two years. It was fucking awesome. I would like to get my hands on some of that KBS to try that out here in CA.

wish Deschutes got distro'd out here :/

Enjoying a Trois Pistoles atm, with Brooklyn local 1 on deck

dont get it here either, made a good trading buddy who gets me lots of Abyss, Mirror Mirror, Black Butte X's, and other special releases

Anyone know what BBK Dark is? I had it last night on tap at a German restaurant but I can't seem to find it on BA or on any websites besides people mentioning they had "BBK Dark"

Just got back from day 2 of the Hard Liver Barleywine Festival @ Brouwers in Seattle. Yesterday was fucking packed, took me an hour to get my drinks, but I ended up drinking a fuck ton of 3oz samples (in bold on the list below) in addition to Cherry Adam and Matt from Hair of the Dog, Deviation from Russian River, KBS (FINALLY!!!), and more I was too drunk to remember.

Maybe it was kept in a 90 degree shed for 2 years  Have you tried it yet?

Just opened 1 of 4 KBS I got today.

Delicious. I thought it would be a lot more bourbony but it's pretty nicely balanced.

had one last night, they're in good shape...still so boozy after 2 years

thats good to hear about KBS, last years batch was pretty sub-par
