Isn't that who this is aimed at? Minorities? Specifically blacks and latinos. The Vac rates for whites is quite high.

Entire police department resigns in Missouri | TheHill
Officers reported a number of reasons for why they resigned.

Story at a glance:

An entire Missouri police department, including the police chief and his officers, resigned.
Kimberling City Police Chief Craig Alexander resigned on Aug. 23.
The mass resignation reportedly caught Mayor Bob Fritz of Kimberling City off guard.

Quote:
An entire Missouri police department, including the police chief and his officers, resigned leaving the city of Kimberling without immediate authority.

Citing problems like an inadequate pay rate and not having the right tools to do the job, the department has local leaders struggling to find replacements, especially when rhetoric against law enforcement is high amongst some, Fox News reported.

"It will be a struggle to fill the police department back up with qualified officers, but hopefully they can start working on that soon and get that accomplished," Stone County Sheriff Doug Rader said of the resignations at the Kimberling City Police Department, noting that most police stations are understaffed.

What preempted the mass exodus, according to Rader, was Kimberling City Police Chief Craig Alexander***8217;s resignation on Aug. 23. He wanted changes from the town's mayor and he wanted to better himself, Fox News reported.

Soon after, Alexander***8217;s resignation was joined by three officers and a sergeant, with their reasons for quitting being the absence of a police clerk to assist the department, not having qualified officers in the department, and wanting new opportunities with a better pay rate, according to NBC Springfield, Missouri.

It is being reported that some of the Kimberling City Police Officers left to join the Branson West Police Department, which caught Mayor Bob Fritz of Kimberling City off guard.

"I didn***8217;t know there were that many openings in Branson West because we didn***8217;t see an advertisement for police," Fritz said, referring to Alexander and officer Shaun McCafferty taking jobs at the Branson West Police Department.

"[The resignations were] unexpected and the short notice disappointing," the mayor said.

"We***8217;re looking for officers, we***8217;re looking for a new police chief and I think we***8217;ll be fine," Fritz added.

Amid protests in 2020, police officers were pressured to resign, to be held accountable for their actions including murder, and face defunding from opponents who advocate for the funding to go to other initiatives.

About 2,600 officers from New York retired in 2020, according to The New York Times, compared to the 1,509 who retired the year prior.

Portland, Ore. had 69 officers resign and 75 retire from April 2020 to April 2021, compared to 27 and 14 the previous year, respectively.

In Seattle, resignations went from 34 to 123 and retirements went up 43 to 96.
If you are curious - it was a total of 7 officers that quit together. Many of the stories neglect that fact and I find it annoying. It tends to make the story sound more dramatic.

But, do not let that deter you from being interested. It is happening in other places. We are headed back towards a form of anarchy in some areas. Which, may be a good thing for awhile to get the system cleaned out.

Remember forum invasions? The Serenity Now invasion of the funeral?
These are now called "Hate Raids".

Twitch Sues Over Harassment Of POC, LGBTQ Streamers

And, Amazon will sue. Amazon owns Twitch, let's not forget.

Quote:
Twitch has sued two users who allegedly bombarded people of color and LGBTQ people with racist, sexist, anti-gay content while streaming, and creating alternate accounts to avoid being banned.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday, alleged that beginning in August, users CruzzControl and CreatineOverdose used bots to conduct "hate raids" on streamers who identify as racial minorities and/or members of the LBGTQ community, spamming their chats with a torrent of racial slurs, personal identifying information, descriptions of violence against marginalized communities, and links to gore videos.

Nearly 3,000 of CruzzControl's alleged bots have been linked to several hate raids, "including those targeting black and LGBTQIA+ streamers with racist, homophobic, sexist and other harassing content," the lawsuit said. The user CreatineOverdose also allegedly "used their bot software to demonstrate how it could be used to spam Twitch channels with racial slurs, graphic descriptions of violence against minorities, and claims that the hate raiders are the KKK."

Although the platform first suspended and then permanently banned these users' known Twitch accounts, they allegedly created new accounts and kept changing their "self-described 'hate raid code'" to avoid being found and banned again, the suit said.

The harassment they allegedly unleashed was so relentless that some streamers were forced to stop streaming on the platform, Twitch said, "eliminating an important source of revenue."

"These attacks obstruct the chat so significantly, victimized streamers are unable to engage with their community through chat for the duration of the attack, and some even choose to avoid streaming altogether until the attack ends," the lawsuit said.
So, the use of BOTS and DDOS etc already has laws associated with the misuse of the service. But, look how they have called it "Hate Raids" instead of illegal use and disruption of services.

Man presumed dead after trying to jump across Devil's Churn inlet on Oregon coast
The Devil's Churn is a narrow water passage on the Pacific coast known for its extreme currents.

A California man is presumed dead after attempting to jump across Oregon***8217;s treacherous Devil***8217;s Churn***8212; a narrow inlet on the Pacific coast known for its extreme currents.

Steve Allen, 67, of Walnut Creek, California, tried to jump over the water passage at around 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 9, according to a statement from Oregon State Police.

Troopers originally responded to a call that a man had fallen into the ocean and later learned Allen had jumped.

Witnesses said that Allen fell into the ocean while trying to leap across the churn, and other visitors were unable to rescue him, according to police. He was last seen by rescue agencies ***8220;unresponsive***8221; in the water before crews lost sight of his body.

Agencies suspended their search around 6:40 p.m. Thursday evening, declaring Allen to be presumed dead.

The churn, about 140 miles southwest of Portland in Lincoln County, has extremely dangerous rip tides and large waves along jagged rocks that form its narrow passageway.

Allen tried to jump across the narrowest portion of the cove that was about three to four feet wide, according to local news site Yachats News.

***8220;It looks like you can jump across, but the other side is steep and slick,***8221; witness Andy Nelson, of Portland, Oregon, told the site, saying Allen was with his wife at the time of the accident.

Nelson said Allen was able to hold onto a life ring at one point, but bystanders were unable to pull him out of the water.
"Hey honey, watch this!"

Alex Murdaugh accused of arranging own shooting in $10M life insurance scheme
A 61-year-old South Carolina man has been charged with assisted suicide and fraud in the Sept. 4 shooting of lawyer Alex Murdaugh, which Murdaugh survived.

Alex Murdaugh accused of arranging own shooting in $10M life insurance scheme
A 61-year-old South Carolina man has been charged with assisted suicide and fraud in the Sept. 4 shooting of

South Carolina lawyer Alex Murdaugh arranged for another man to kill him earlier this month so that his son could collect on a $10 million life insurance policy, authorities said Tuesday.

Murdaugh, 53, survived the Sept. 4 shooting, which happened months after the unsolved slayings of his wife and adult son. Police say that Murdaugh told 911 that he was shot in the head while changing a flat tire and that the shooting caused only a "superficial" wound.

On Tuesday, Curtis Edward Smith, 61, was arrested on assisted suicide and fraud counts in connection to the roadside incident, according to the South Carolina State Law Enforcement Division (SLED).

Documents released by the agency say that Murdaugh admitted that he asked Smith to kill him so that a beneficiary could collect on his life insurance policy.

Murdaugh, who is part of a prominent South Carolina legal family, has not been charged with any crime.

The roadside shooting happened almost three months after Murdaugh's wife and adult son were found shot to death on the family's hunting property in rural Islandton on June 7.

Days after the Sept. 4 shooting, Murdaugh said in a statement that he resigned from his job at a law firm to enter rehab. He said he "made a lot of decisions that I truly regret" and that the murders of his wife and son have caused an incredibly difficult period.

The law firm said that Murdaugh resigned only after the partners discovered he had allegedly misappropriated funds. On Monday, South Carolina law officials announced that it was looking into accusations that Murdaugh ***8220;misappropriated***8221; money from the firm.

Murdaugh's law license was indefinitely suspended.

Smith has been charged with assisted suicide, assault and battery of a high aggravated nature, pointing and presenting a firearm, insurance fraud, and conspiracy to commit insurance fraud, SLED said.

It said that Smith, of Walterboro, was also arrested on charges of distribution of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana.

Smith was being held in jail Tuesday night, officials said. It was not immediately clear if he had an attorney.

The agency said additional charges were expected in the case.

Murdaugh allegedly gave Smith a gun and directed Smith to kill him, according to the documents released by investigators Tuesday.

Murdaugh allegedly admitted to the law enforcement agency that the plan was for Smith to kill him, so that Murdaugh's surviving son could collect a life insurance policy worth approximately $10 million, according to the documents.

Earlier this summer, Murdaugh's wife, Margaret, and adult son, Paul, were found dead near dog kennels on the family's hunting property in Colleton County, west of Charleston. Their deaths have been classified as by state investigators as a double homicide.

Alex Murdaugh, a personal injury attorney, called 911 at 10:07 p.m. June 7 and told a dispatcher that his wife and son were on the ground and not breathing, according to records released by authorities.

He said he had just returned and asked the dispatcher to "please hurry."

Murdaugh's father, a grandfather and a great-grandfather all held the top prosecutor's position in South Carolina's 14th Circuit, which covers a coastal region of the state known as the Lowcountry, totaling more than 80 years.

Who wants in on my lawsuit against Swedish meatballs and German chocolate cake?

Are those Hawaiian rolls and coffee really from Hawaii? | NBC4 WCMH-TV

Quote:
A new report in the consumer site Mouseprint.org points to a lawsuit filed against the makers of Kings Hawaiian Rolls.

While the package says Hilo, Hawaii on the front, the suit says the bakery is really located in Torrance California, hardly a tropical paradise.

Hilo is where they were first baked several generations ago, with fresh Hawaiian pineapple and honey, it says.

However, Mouseprint points out that the package never claims the rolls were actually made in Hawaii, So there may not be a case for false advertising.
