Did you ever see them live? I was lucky to see them 4 or 5 times in their heyday early 80s. Always in the moshpit, incredible energy, those gigs were like a 2 hour workout.

Yeah definitely contenders for that list. My others would be The Cult and Green Day.

Some good answers here. The Cult were great! They'd be a great pub band and just fun to jam with.

I'd consider Maiden too! But I think the best pub band would have to have been The Angels (Australian band). They were just fantastic.
