So, a few years ago a movie came out called "Empty Man". It begins with IIRC a 20 minute first chapter, and it is quite wonderful. I enjoyed everything about this opening sequence. The cinematography, use of sound, even the acting was appropriate.
The rest of the movie, though, has nothing at all to do with the opener. Perhaps the most tedious of connections. It's really bad. The good thing is the first act works perfectly well as its own short movie. I highly recommend it to everyone, but do yourself a favor and skip the other two hours or whatever. It's like they pulled a bait and switch. The change in the movie is unreal, it's like the opening sequence and the rest of the movie were directed and worked on by two different directors and crews. I really couldn't believe it. I was so hyped up for a cool horror mystery, but nope.
