Consider trying different cables too... DP/DVI/HDMI.

Im on HDMI, cable is rarely unplugged. The new monitor should get here soon. Oh wait, i'll be using displayport. I can move the same hdmi cable to the living room, see if it blinks there.

Not only implying just the cable, but the hardware with the cable.

what hardware with the cable? My gpu and the rest of the pc is brand new. The cable looks fine but sure maybe I should have checked before buying the monitor. Only item left is the monitor.
