yeah it is. Its been very laggy as well.

Server didn't seem lagged but I rebooted it anyway. Bukkit is almost done with a new a build but thanks to shedding "code fat" and other optimizations it stands a good chance of breaking addons unless the authors have been keeping up with them.

As soon as the proper plugins are updated, (mainly essentials at this point) I will leave a post here saying when it will be okay to update to 1.2.x.

Well just tried it, and now the server is borked for me. If you still want to play DO NOT update yet to 1.2.4. Bukkit has a reccomended build but Essentials does not and the original 1.2.4 JAR file is having a hissy-fit. So it will stay at 1.1 until such time I can figure out what is wrong. Right now I have no way to tell if 1.1 people can still log in unless they come in here.

1.1 people can still get into the server currently.

Just an FYI there are bukkit dev versions for 1.2.4 that have been stable/good since the day 1.2.4 was released. They all work well with essentials. Never mind that 1.2.3 was stable with just about every plugin out there.

ps. We took over grimworld ownership about a month ago and bought a brand new server that can comfortably support 80 people both in terms of specs and bandwidth (we have had 60 on with zero lag. No more silly build rules

I tried updating the JAR to 1.2.4 and I get stuck doing "logging in" and timing out.

Which build are you using? We are on 2117, the only issue that we have right now (and talking to a couple other server admins they have the same issue), mobs dont' burn in sunlight.

Also, I just downloaded the latest version (1.2.4) and it's lagging me to hell and back. What gives? It starts out nice and fast, then the program starts taking up like 800MB of memory and the thing starts going at like 1 frame every 10 seconds.

Lower your view distance. That usually helps me with that issue.

ahh, i figured it out. I hadn't downloade the 64 bit version of java so it was defaulting to 32 bit and being generally ****ty.
