if you wanted to experiment with mods, you would prolly be better off going with the whole tekkit bundle because the mods interact with each other very well and there is just soooooo much stuff you can do.

the downside is that it would also need a full world reset which makes me feel bad for the amount of effort people made creating some of the biggest and craziest minecraft monuments i've ever seen.

they're ez installs for both server and client but i dunno if its warranted just for very little number of players that still play.

at the same time. it might just boost popularity of the server because tekkit is pretty popular right now (the yogscast have a pretty entertaining tekkit series http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL310728C6AAFF44B1). and rebuilding from scratch is probably half the fun.

up to you guys to decide, i'm happy to have a tw server at all.

yeah i got it on my own server, but its just me an my gf. I want to see what insanity TW would make. Like a huge factory or something.

Yeah I'd rather not do a full world reset. More than a few TW'ers have invested a lot of time in their projects and I'm not going to flush all that down the drain just for more tools. I'll have to look into multiple worlds for the server, maybe there is a way to allow both worlds to exist at the same time.

Do these people that invested a lot of time in this ever play it anymore?

I know I dont. Probably would more with Tekkit. Then again if we can somehow get the current world to work with it, that would be awesome.

Tekkit uses 1.2.5 Minecraft. I haven't done any research into servers, but I'd imagine you're going to have to wipe everything out and just install Tekkit.

Hmm... I'll have to read up on Tekkit for whatever they plan on doing for the latest MC release. And see if I can support multiple worlds on my server. While I won't wholly destroy the old world I'd like to see some options as well as properly back up the old world that way it is still safe in some form or another.
