Started work on a real fortress. Grading the land is a real *****, let me tell you.

However, I have a nice quarry in the back with a **** ton of stone.

Yeah, I make 18 stone shovels at a time and they are burned through in 10 minutes.

I'm clearing 64x64x(1 to 8). However, there are two outcroppings of stone that I'm going to have to pick through.

Do Mobs spawn randomly out in the open or do they always come from dungeons?

Im trying to find a Spider generator but even though I build a tower at night and keep my eyes open I cant tell where they're coming from.

There's a bunch of stuff right near the spawn. Maybe it's spawning you in a different location?

They spawn randomly and there are also generators in dungeons.

On an unrelated note, mine all the mossy cobblestone from the dungeons that you can. It's the only place it spawns.

Might as well take the chests too, if any. Save you some wood.

Your screenshot is of minecraft classic but his server is minecraft alpha. Are you sure you aren't talking about one of the classic servers linked by henry (Minecraft by Machine - Page 6 - TribalWar Forums)

It is classic though (not alpha) like you say. That's why it confused me and I asked if I had to buy to really play (I don't know what it actually connected me to lol).
