Seriously though, am i missing something? What's the appeal? Is it just garry's mod with ****ty graphics and less options, or what?

i dunno. some underground, indie ******* gets a bunch of hits off reddit. now the game is selling like $30000 a day or some such ****. must be something about it that a bunch of ******s like.

I was asking myself the exact same thing when I saw the Minecraft thread the other day. What exactly is so appealing about this game?

Yeah, the 1 developer that made it has made over $1.5 million dollars. (likely more)

It's hard to explain, it's too bad the free weekend is over already. It's just really fun building **** and exploring caves. Right now the multiplayer is pretty incomplete but eventually it should have monsters and be a survival game, like a first person dwarf fortress.

I remember when Alpha World did most of this..... 10+ years ago. And it didn't look like ****.

I believe notch hired/is hiring a real texture artist to make the textures. Still going to be the same blocks though.

I play Wyrm over this game, just a tad bit more exiting, and looks about the same.

Edit: ^ Makes sense I suppose, and I guess it is Wurm. I just enjoyed the skill point in skill system.

You obviously haven't taken the time to do any research yourself, if that's what you think.

Minecraft is ****ing brilliant. It's the best single-player game I've played in years. I can lose 7 hours a night in it if I'm not paying attention. You can't explain Minecraft, though. You either have to sit down and watch one of the explanation youtube videos or play it yourself. And the graphics kick ass....wtf are you talking about. It's like what 8bit is to console games, but for pc games.
