You can do an idiotic amount of stuff to with this mod. It does not look like it will force you to use the stuff it puts in at all, you can keep building the old fashion way if you want. However if you want to harness technology in minecraft you can.

Yeah I'll install that. Last time I did it (a few weeks ago) I got the message "bukkit is not up to date" even though it was still a testing beta build and not an actual stable, recommended build. I'll run through the build when I get home from work tonight and hopefully it'll all work
