The cab of the truck didn't hit the overhang. The smart money says the driver was not hurt. No need for a witness statement. It was obvious what happened. No reason to stop, no aid to render.

Earlier this month, Kara Gibson was hit by a vehicle when it veered into her as she was riding her motorcycle in Dallas. She was pinned underneath the car and was struggling to breathe when police officers and witnesses came to her rescue.

"I see the video and I see them running to the car to save me,” she recalled. “I see the bystanders running to the car. I wasn't breathing when they pulled me out. Every second counted.""

The witness BS is what stops me from helping others.

I've been a witness a couple times, and in each case, the DA sends subpoena after subpoena saying I may have to appear, even though I gave a sworn statement to the cop. The system really is designed to fuck anyone involved, even if they help.

I keep a tow rope in my truck and jeep to pull people out of ditches in the winter. One day i pulled 8 or so out of one slippery stretch.
 
i would stop and save everyone's life because i'm a doctor and i have a bag of medical supplies in my trunk

Looks to me that said Massholes are clearing the area so emergency vehicles can get there to do their job.

Non-massholes would likely block the way all calling 911 at the same time on their mobile phones impeding emergency response vehicles.
 
In fairness trucks tearing themselves apart on that bridge happens all the time. It's the sixth one in 2015 alone.

You can see the 25MPH speed limit sign in the video. The driver's deceleration wasn't so abrupt either.
 
Up here in the subarctic we always stop to help. It's possible that you are the only two vehicles on the road for a hundred miles, and half the year the temperature alone can kill rather quickly.

But I agree with Feannag (and Stealth) that Massholes shouldn't stop. Especially in life-threatening situations, as this may help to reduce the Masshole total load.
 
What aid? What should people do? Help pick up the pieces of the truck because the driver was too stupid to understand clearances?
 
we should just be like chinese people lemmings, they see one of theirs die, they just say eh and walk on by.

and why shouldn't we? no one believes in anything anymore anyway, might as well embrace our immorality.
