Do you still build your PCs?

What parts did he put in, asking for a friend.

Ordered this case July 1st at $169, now it's $219.

I'd don't know. It's years ago. I look through the clear side wall and it looks like a big fan on a round heatsink. The fan has an intel sticker on it. The case has got fans all over it.

I can tell you this though. I think I asked him to install an SSD too, back everything up and reformat etc. Anyway he (this older Asian dude) rings me and says "What about the files?"

"What files?"

"The pictures and movies"

"Yah back it all up"

"What about the picturesand movies of the umm.. cough cough intimidate content"

"Yah back all that up too. What don't you have a porn collection? Please back that up too"

WTF?

Runs fine

Maybe he thought I was rashish cause the "Asian" folder was pretty empty

piotrr still builds our gaming desktops, but he has a store bought laptop that he uses on business trips. The steamdeck is his current goto for commuting, sitting on the loo, resting in the hammock or wherever.

altho - pleeb level is a bit harsh, intel still work unless you are OC'ing

I run a stock intel on mine and it's been flawless for 12 years now

holy shit, that's a goddamn dinosaur

for someone talking about having a massive fan and heatsink and then to post a pic of the stock fan and heatsink that comes free w every new cpu

im just dying a little bit inside

It's been 15 years since I've built a gaming PC. These days you can pretty much buy a machine straight off of the shelf at any box store, plug in a decent graphics card and you've got a machine that will decently run any modern game you would want to play.

Probably save yourself a couple grand too

A couple grand? What planet do you live on

Not sure if you think saving 2K is under or over expectations?

I was shopping for a PC 4 or 5 months ago. The prices for a pre-built gaming PCs are outrageous... if money isn't an object and you want the latest greatest hardware (which you absolutely do not need).

Retards think that they have to have supercomputers to game.

Entirely depends on what you're playing. Minecraft? Probably not. 4k? Vr? You actually do need an insanely overpowered machine to push those 2 use cases

VR was the reason I was buying a new PC. The PC I ended up going with cost around $2800. I play PCVR games with my Oculus Quest 2. Everything runs fine.

What are you playing? I play dcs world and msfs and it basically requires a super computer for you to even get somewhat decent performance out of it. I have a rift s and probably wont upgrade any time soon because any better of a headset and I'll have to replace my entire pc to drive the display lol

on PCVR I play Skyrim VR, Into the Radius, and Demeo. Then I have about a dozen games that play standalone n the Quest 2. Admittedly, the Quest 2 version of games are kind of dumbed down graphic wise, sort of in the same way Nintendo Wii was shittier graphics wise than the 360 or the PS3
