Amazon founder Jeff Bezos blasted to the edge of space and spent a few minutes outside Earth's atmosphere Tuesday on the first crewed flight from his firm Blue Origin.

An elated Bezos could be heard calling it "the best day ever" after landing back on Earth.

The milestone launch in the modern commercial space race comes on the 52nd anniversary of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin's moon landing in 1969, though the space-faring landscape has evolved by giant leaps since then as billionaires emerge as key players driving the new race to the cosmos.

Bezos, who holds the title of the richest man in the world per Bloomberg data, has said the spaceflight will fulfill a lifelong dream and he is also curious how it will "change" him.
Very polished launch/landing. He didn't really go to 'space', but more of a high earth orbit, still pretty cool though

Makes firing all those workers for taking bathroom breaks totally worth it.

he didnt make it anywhere near orbit
he made it just past the karman line which means the end of our atmosphere and the technical start of space

Watched it on CNN as it got low it was descending at ~15-16 mph, commentator says "thrusters will launch just before touchdown for a very gentle landing"
Capsule proceeds to hit the ground at 15-16mph.

At least he's too busy now to worry about trying to buy the WFT from Dan Synder.

there is only one way I would care

going up and coming down to the other side of the earth in a few hours rather than a day.

and about $2000

so yea, don't care

SpaceX I give a **** about because of the grander plan of space exploration. Bezos and Branson was more of a rich boy “look at me”

so far, spacex is the only one with decent live stream presenters. Virgin Galactic was just flat out terrible and Blue Origin was only slightly less terrible.

Tulsi Gabbard tweeted he should stay up there

I say Tulsi Gabbard and Candace Owens for a power duo in DC.
