I think it's kind of hot. A group of women banding together. Just calling in men to service their sexual desires. Running around naked. Lezzing out. Meanwhile the men just hanging around drinking and playing sports.

I wouldn't call Helsinki/Tampere success stories.

The real Finland social distances by default.

some people say Sweden handled it better than our government did too

even though 15x more people died per capita than they did in

guess it depends on who is the virus

I know the answer for most of Sweden and Finland by looking at who you elected and now represents you

yea it really depends on the metric we use.
for me saving lives is #1

but even GDP or employment wise, we're not that bad off. No mass unemployment like in the US and not many businesses went under (yet).

Finland and Sweden both handled it very differently

both also seemed to stick with their models

so i give u both credit for that

worst handling was the UK who went with the herd immunity (let it burn) model until their old leaders and royalty started getting ill

then they shut down the country with excessive force to everyone but apparently global travelers and immigrants..........aka the over 18 Million visitors who visited them this year.

sick people roaming the streets while the healthy locked up indoors

most sane people might argue that isn't a success story

also it pays better on unemployment than working

we all know about the 1200 in trump bucks

but not the 600 dollar additional unemployment you get on top of your states unemployment benefits every week. AKA additional 2400 dollars a month.

so we all want to be unemployed until July 31st (when this ends, unless it is continued)

that's a little FYI most people outside of USA don't know about

so unless you make over $30 dollars an hour, which half of our country does not..........these are the half of the country who are now called unemployed

yea I guess it doesn't really matter in the long run if the companies stay afloat and can recruit back once situation clears.

then again I do feel like we should use this time to rethink our consumerism...

yikes man no kidding

most of the jobs lost were going away anyways during next recession (which we were on the brink of and already entering)

so we trying real hard to automate and use imported H1B labor to back fill in the rest

this telecommute thing is here to stay as is a lot of other things

some good some bad........but all inevitable imo

bankruptcies and foreclosure epidemic hasn't even begun yet......that's when we see the real damage inflicted

world is going to reaccess and be forced to re-evaluate a lot of things by the time this is done and over.

the universal basic income concept has been attempted in your areas already

as have negative interest rates

both to a lot of failures.......but we about to run both of these globally here soon

and don't have a lot of other choices given what we are willing to give up and or sacrifice moving forward

so we shall see how that works as well

also finland

The European on Twitter:

Quote:
Muslim immigrant in Finland complaining that there's too many Finnish people there: "Just Fins and Fins and Fins.."

And thinks it's difficult to blend in but is solvable because: "more and more immigrants are coming here and it's good for this society."
more things change the more they stay the same

should just say welcome to sweden soon

absent more worried about getting BERNIE elected over here

Forgive clu. He gets too excited when he reads a title to an article that reaffirms what he believes in.

shutting down the country for months to save the lives of geriatrics in palliative care is one of the most monumentally dumbest decisions a government could've taken
and we did it

No, a great leaders builds massive highway projects that creates jobs during a depression, completes railroads that connect the country, creates a fantastically designed low cost vehicle everyone can afford and takes his country from a **** hole in the middle of a depression to about 6 months from rulling the planet in about 6 years.

Killing millions of innocents...weeeelllll... .probably not a good thing

I quite strongly disagree here. We were facing the unknown capabilities of a new fastly spreading virus. Erring with caution was the only reasonable choice, especially when we had alarming examples of healthcare systems getting overrun by this.

I've talked to two of my virologist friends and we're definitely not in the clear..

And on the morality aspect, you're saying lives are less important than economy. which is absurd.
