Uh, no. I've played it a couple times through now, and nothing comes close to the difficulty of the solider.

You don't even have to use your weapons as the bionic classes.

I guess I'm a huge ***** for playing on normal, then. I still die every once and a while when I get flanked without realizing or when I just get bum-rushed by too many assholes.

My NPC allies also like charging into enemy lines and getting themselves shot like idiots.

The first time through, I got bored with the game after about 10 hrs. if you start to get bored, skip all side quests and side dialogs and just run through the main missions. worked well for me. mass effect has a great story and is set in a cool universe...i found that as long as I focused only on that it was really enjoyable.

Mass Effect 2 does a better job of keeping things interesting, but I'm about 20 hrs in and at the same point where I just want to get through the main story.

The collectors are a really bad example for saying the adepts don't need guns, biotic barriers go down easier to biotic powers compared to shields. Considering most of your fights will be against mercs and mechs who will have shields armor and health you will damn well need your guns. I haven't played a soldier on insanity yet so I won't say you are wrong but adept is no walk in the park.

The key to the higher difficulty levels as a biotic is team management of their powers and positioning. I only have played the console version and it is rather obnoxious in that aspect of the game. I imagine a keyboard and mouse would handle those tasks much easier. Other classes your team is mostly just their to act as tanks well you practice getting headshots.

only reason you would need to bother with an infinite money cheat is if you really want every upgrade maxed out. i've been able to buy almost every upgrade by level 20. I'm probably missing about 5 purchased ones (~300K creds) and have 150K spare creds at the moment.
