The age of Internet piracy is nearing its end. First it will be the ISPs' servers, then they'll just block all Usenet servers since the "pedophiles" started using those instead. At this point BitTorrent really will be the best option, and the MPAA/RIAA/BSA will start collecting the IP information of everyone and start firing off lawsuits to the point where you can count on getting sued if you use BitTorrent illegally. There will still be things like Freenet, but it'll basically be the end, there won't be any way to distribute pirated materials at decent speeds.

I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

For every 1 that falls, at least 2 will pop up to replace it.

and no, it's not nearing its end. People have the power now.
 
I've downloaded all my Anime and Games from Giganews which is 1.3mbps download for me compared to torrent or my ISP's lame 300kbps

People don't have any power, all they have are ISPs that are marginally afraid of losing customers. Block Usenet, NAT all home users, and start suing everyone involved in it, and you can kill piracy to the point where it goes back to just being a few smart nerds doing it.
