Rogue PvP combat daggers?

Please do not go combat daggers in arena.... ever....

Hemo pretty much sucks unless your gear is amazing.

What he said, Hemo needs AP like a mofo to be good. If you don't have the gear it won't work. I was always hearing combat daggers is a joke, and mut builds are better than that at least.

I'm dusting off my 66 rogue now she's mutiltate right now but I'm reluctant to change it because I have a Ced's Carver and Crystal-Infused Shiv waiting in the bank.

Combat maces.

Hemo is a joke (some theorycrafting shows you'd need around 3k AP to match the DPS of combat swords/fists/maces) as is combat daggers in pvp. Combat daggers is amazing for pve, don't get me wrong...but it's just not intended for pvp. At all.

Subtlety is still a joke if I'm not mistaken right? I was hearing some talk about it being somewhat viable in arena/pvp but the sources aren't very reliable.

pre bc with my like 1200 or something ap, DS/pugio combat daggers was a free win every 5 minutes.

Wow was so much more fun back then though.

I loved being unkillable in full Redemption :(

Or completely obliterating people as 46/0/5 on post 2.0 on my rogue with her sick MAEX FANG/DRAGONFANG BLADE combo!!111

testing out a strange non hemo sub build atm. mostly I like BGs and world pvp. don't care for arenas other than the min. to get rating points. start of season 3 means season 1 gear will be honor point buyable so I'm not too worried about getting high arena rating for gear.

Combat maces for pvp is pretty devastating.

I was once killed by a combat mace rogue + shadow priest in ~2 seconds flat in 2v2. (plate, 325 resil and over 11k hp)

I have fought other well geared mace rogues who were a pain to bring down.

I think the initial past problems with combat maces wasn't the build itself, but the fact there weren't a whole lot of good maces around. Mainly most of the good to great maces were all MH-only and any 1H ones either couldn't compare or made shitty OF maces.

Someone explain the validity (if any) of Combat Daggers. Because the way I see it, Combat is mainly sustained damage and Sini-Spam. That's fine and all when you use maces and swords (for more damage and their respective skill procs) and fists and daggers both get +5% crit. Given that wouldn't fists pretty much be a better choice since they put out more damage than daggers? Or is Combat Daggers simply taken by people who feel they want some burst damage (ambush, etc.)?

Well, the reason I'm combat maces is b/c I couldn't find any decent swords, and I haven't even come across any fist weapons, so that's not even an option.

Also, I'm currently using a mace MH, and a 1.4 dagger in the OH to increase my chances of combat potency procs, but I have 2x Fist of Reckoning (2.7 wep) in the bank, and I wanted to know if its a good idea to dual wield those, or to just use 1, and use a fast dagger or find a fast mace for the OH.

Personal opinion alert.

As far as all around best builds (raids, pvp, etc), mutilate (41/20) is the best overall build for rogues. Excellent burst damage, great sustained dps, and it's not nearly as gear dependent as other builds. A couple of slow hard hitting daggers is fine, you don't need to worry about weapon speed, only about high as possible overall damage. You maintain steady dps via SnD and envenom/eviserate and poison applications. And actual poison immune bosses and mobs are very rare and not applicable to the vast majority of players.

But that's just my opinion, of course. The eternal debate rages on.

PvP? Combat maces.

Nothing more annoying to casters than a random mace stun, especially if they've trinketed out of a KS to heal their teammate/CC a healer/etc.
