wings have looked pretty bad the past week or so......their defense for some reason isnt the same as last year.

vancouver looks pretty good right now imo.

pens will beat the flyers in the first round :)

Travace 04-12-2009 20:02

#8 Anaheim Ducks i hope they win

Xcursion 04-12-2009 20:04

First round predictions:

EAST:
(1) Boston vs (8) Montreal - Boston in 5.
(2) Washington vs (7) NY Rangers - Ovie lights it up in 6.
(3) New Jersey vs (6) Carolina - Marty dances on his head yet again.
(4) Pittsburgh vs (5) Philadelphia - Philly will physically dominate Malkin and Crosby the whole series and I think at least one of them will get injured enough to be sidelined for the rest of the playoffs.

WEST:
(1) San Jose vs (8) Anaheim - Very simple. San Jose will **** them in 5.
(2) Detroit vs (7) Columbus - It's a strech but Columbus has been playing really well and I think they will upset the European Red Wings.
(3) Vancouver vs (6) St. Louis - A long series probably to 6 at the least. Vancouver leans on Lulongo way too much.
(4) Chicago vs (5) Calgary - Calgary has too many injuries right now and are going to **** up.

I'm going to enjoy watching the circus that is Montreal, and the over-paid under-performing squad that is the rangers go down in flames. Cannon fodder for real teams.

Out west, my sleeper pick is BJs. That Mason kid is ****ing good, and their extremely defensive style is perfect for the playoffs.

East, I'm going Carolina. Cam Ward has been a ****ing monster lately (even counting the debacle in Buffalo) and he's already carried a rather mediocre team to the cup before.

I go with the hot goalies.

columbus playing well lately??? are you ****ing serious??? 3-3-4 in the last 10 isnt exactly playing well. and the flyers were supposed to physically dominate the pens last year, and we all know how that turned out.

we were playing with like 50% of our team injured. We're 100% now. New team.

Plus, Sid is ****ing overrated. Last time we played them how many shots did he have?

Oh yea...none.

pens with home ice.....is huge. they are 16-3-1 at home in their last 20 games....and if they stay away from wearing this horrendous baby blue jerseys they should win.

How many goals does Crosby have? 26?

Oh many does carter have? Oh 46.

We're going to break the pens defense like a ****ing twig.

and biron, he's shaky during the regular season, but he's a ****ing god amongst mortals during the playoffs.

5 of their last 10 games went to overtime. They raped the Flames 5-0 but they lost to the Blues, Preds and Wild during that strech.

Bill Bellamy 04-12-2009 20:13

wingz all da way duh

columbus usually plays detroit tough, just like nashville does. however, a rookie goalie + no playoff experience usually means a quick exit from the playoffs.

wings in 5, MAYBE 6

Not all rookie goalies fail miserably in the playoffs. He's got 10 shut out this year. That's a hell of a lot just for a rookie.
