Oh I dunno, with 35 times the population, maybe you have a few more hospitals or doctors or something. It's a mystery

Who said anything about it being a mystery? You bragged about testing a very small population in a very wealthy nation. It's equally obnoxious and unimpressive.

If you were here you would understand how impressive what has been done here really is, but I'm not gonna waste the time required to sell that to you.

Flash 01-22-2021 00:03

Yeah fool. If you knew just how big of a piece of **** Dubai is you***8217;d be impressed.

Fool 01-22-2021 00:04

Then why bring it up at all to begin with? New York City has a similar population to your country, fewer hospitals and doctors, and conducts enough daily tests to check everyone twice in about 70 days. Is that a better comparison for you?

That's thanks to the massive area in the middle which are quite literally empty. Australia has a more urbanised population than the USA. Sydney and Melbourne together account for around half the population of the entire country.

It's isolated geographically.
Which matters to jets because....? We have land borders with two less countries than the USA does. It's not that different, really.

It has far fewer travelers entering. Your population is less than California or Texas by themselves.
Yep, and that's why I used per-capita statistics. It's still an order of magnitude different.

The population centers are hundreds of miles from one another.
Even within population centres, it's less. Both Sydney and Melbourne had been going weeks with no new cases. There was one outbreak (believed to be due to a flight crew) in Sydney which spiked things again for a while, but we're now back to five days without a single new case, let alone death.

I'm not denying we have some advantages in our situation, there certainly are.. But the difference is off the charts.

japan intentionally went out of their way very early on to establish that testing is only to be performed on people who have returned from china within 90 days of the test or can prove theyve been in direct contact with someone within 14 days of that persons positive test

aka almost no testing happening whatsoever because the borders are and have been completely closed

so when ppl die, they cant count it as covid because they never tested them for it

coincidentally, japans suicide rate is up by double-digit percentage points, and almost triple digit points in women while respiratory deaths in 2020 were lower than in 2019

just food for thought

Flash 01-22-2021 00:11

Covid nursing home deaths are the only deaths that matter. STFU lgbr

Bughead 01-22-2021 00:25

Why are you guys arguing about COVID? It's only been one day and Biden seems to have already solved the problem. :weird:

Melbourne and Sydney are about 1/3 not 1/2, and they both have very large metro areas. Fewer jets, fewer travelers. 8 million per year vs 1 million per day, and most of yours come from the covid hotbed of New Zealand. Somehow I doubt you were sticking covid patients into nursing homes, but I haven't checked. The differences in circumstances are off the charts as well. If Trump had been elected the Prime Quigley of Australia do you think your covid deaths would be off the charts?

Brasstax 01-22-2021 00:39

Associating a president with "helping covid" is only valid somewhere like China. Not the US.

1) People in the US have freedom
2) The president does not dictate what the states do.

Will the States listen to what the Fed says about distribution of vaccines? No.
Will the states ***** and moan if they want? Yes.
Is the president a doctor? No.

In short - Presidents are asshats. Your best bet is controlling your own destiny. Even if that means moving your asshat self out of your asshat state and your asshat town to some other asshat location. Even then, you are still an asshat and just as unlikely to die from COVIDZ

havax 01-22-2021 00:58

lmao the downvotes and comments on the official white house yt channel are ****ing hilarious

The President doesn't dictate what the states do, but you have to get that governors of states with big numbers of Trump supporters are going to lock themselves in with whatever he says. True to an extent of any President, but particularly so with the sort of populist cult following that Trump had. If he'd have said "hey folks, this is serious: wear masks, stay home, keep your distance if you can't, get tested," do you think that those states wouldn't have behaved differently?

He said those things at the start of the lockdowns, hell it was mailed to every American. Everything but the mask part, which of course was when Fauci and the rest were lying about masks to protect the supply for medical professionals. Which was of course mere days after Democrats were telling people to go celebrate Chinese New Year in crowded streets.

he did eventually tell the public to wear masks and social distance, and that the pandemic may get much worse before it gets better, i believe it was around June or July 2019, but still, didn't make a difference to freedom loving patriots. so there, what else ya got?

Veniggs 01-22-2021 02:17

biden is basically reagan 2.0 since he is senile and hates black ppl

maybe with dems controlling everything in the federal govt sans the SC maybe we'll see some progressive reform :roller:

You got one thing right, Presidents are asshats. What you missed is that half-educated rednecks are bigger asshats, so they hung on Trump's every word and acted like Covid was a myth, and something to push back against, like everything else they don't understand - minorities, gays, cars with no rust, people who don't own at least 15 guns and so on.

This is why you are where you are.

i bet you wouldn't talk about muslims and how they don't understand gays like that, would you?

and the only asshat is you owning minority slaves to do your dirty housework.
