Honestly your voice needs a bit of work. Taking lessons would help you refine it.

here's the thing, it's fine to sing in front of your friends and family, just don't bring it outside that thinking you can actually sing.

I do the same thing with axl rose, but I realize I can't sing for real so I don't advertise that I can in front of people I don't know.
