Turns out that the drug cartel is full of rapists and murderers and they are coming into the US from Mexico. Trump just represents the current "The country was better when white men were in charge and there were fewer brown people" vote. The rest of the people support highly-idealistic "Everyone is equal, people that got a bad deal in the past should be helped out" vote. It's always going to be close to 50-50.
