Most of Japan is thankful to the US for all our help after the earthquake/tsunami and for dedicating our knowledge/suggestions on what to do with the nuclear reactor.

There are always going to be stupid people out there, thankfully they are the minority for once.

I'm pretty sure that initial footage was being broadcast live during the tsunami in a link earlier in this thread. I was watching cars being swept away as it happened, the kind of footage you don't usually see re-broadcast out of respect for the dead.

Now they are planning to inject Nitrogen into reactor #1, and probably the others in order to prevent an explosion.

The real amount of damage comes down to how much of the waste is from long half-life isotopes like Cs-137. The iodine will be down to harmless levels within a month.
