***8220;Donald Trump tapped into the anger of a declining middle class that is sick and tired of establishment economics, establishment politics and the establishment media. People are tired of working longer hours for lower wages, of seeing decent paying jobs go to China and other low-wage countries, of billionaires not paying any federal income taxes and of not being able to afford a college education for their kids - all while the very rich become much richer.

***8220;To the degree that Mr. Trump is serious about pursuing policies that improve the lives of working families in this country, I and other progressives are prepared to work with him. To the degree that he pursues racist, sexist, xenophobic and anti-environment policies, we will vigorously oppose him.***8221;
WHAT A ***** LOL

He has a bunch of Wall St. insiders on his transition team though, former Goldman executives etc...

He isn't going to shake anything up, term limits are DOA for example.

He will likely surround himself with a bunch of establishment hacks.

Just like Obama did.

Running on change is easy.

Governing on change is harder.

Well he's been president-elect for just under 30 hours. I'm willing give it just a bit longer.

havax 11-10-2016 12:43

madhatsam has got it all figured out, first 30 hours.

IMPEACH!!

cael 11-10-2016 12:44

calm down guys, chris christie will sort it out

MadHatSam 11-10-2016 12:45

Hey I would be happy to be wrong. History doesn't always repeat itself, but most of the time it does.

NightTrain 11-10-2016 12:47

If he maintains the status quo then its just that. But nothing will take away the glow from seeing Shrillary's dream crushed

this comment from a youtube video is gold.

Dear American neighbours,

We think you're swell, honestly, but we're neighbours. Imagine that your next door neighbour has a whiny, entitled kid who wants to move out because things aren't going their way at home. Would you want that kid to move into your house indefinitely? Exactly.

Yeah, either way a ****ty person was going to have their world crumble.

Hillary deserved nothing, even if I find Trump a loathsome person it wasn't like he was running against someone worthy of the office either.

You know they are going to just throw names out there and keep everyone in suspense until he actually chooses.

Some possibilities:

Treasury Secretary:
Rep. Jeb Hensarling
Businessman Carl Icahn
Banker Steven Mnuchin (Trump's personal pick)

I think it looks like Reince will be Chief of Staff. Victoria A. Lipnic is the only name I've heard mentioned for Sec Labor.

I like how Democrats are all about getting rid of the Electoral College now that they have the minority and female vote.

Could you imagine a straight popular vote election? No one would care about the swing states, the rust belt would completely die.

Fool 11-10-2016 12:59

Dems complaining about 1 person 1 vote and yet their own party doesn't work like that. The real irony is that if they allowed their own party to run on a straight popular vote, they'd lose every general election.

cael 11-10-2016 13:00

the rust belt is already dead lol

as opposed to only caring about the swing states?
there are positives and negatives both ways, but the EC is mostly negative imo

Sorta like how Trump went off when he *thought* Obama lost the popular vote to Romney?
