The reactors are in trouble and with the wind blowing east. A massive pressure release will push a lot of it towards the NA west coast. If they go BOOM a lot of the fallout will be headed to the same place :(

Blowing east from the plants themselves is right out to sea, I believe.

This is true.
There's no danger of meltdown, just the venting of the steam.

Which isn't even that bad according to one expert.
It just sounds really bad.

There was a guy on CNN, I think, who was at the chernobyl site for 10 years after the accident. He was explaining things really well.
