so people are saying in IRC that HiRez said they are cutting T:A development because they aren't seeing any new users.

take with a grain of salt

but probably true

apparently the last few patches didn't see any new user increases.

which shouldn't be surprising since the last few patches had no content.

It has hard to get people excited about learning a game this fast paced without proper demo system. If you have a situation where a player gets hit by a MA a fraction of a second before capping and all you saw was the explosion and the announcer letting you know it isn't that good, but if you can see that the player that got the MA spawned, did 2 disk jumps tossed a long range disk shot at a odd angle to get the kill it is a great moment.

I played T:A a lot and all the other tribes games, I understand all the little things that are happening while watching a broadcast match and it is still boring to watch because the only good action that you can cover with their observer mode is a scramble for the flag which still looks sloppy.

We have had pile of games come out in the last few months and I think people will prefer to play firefall beta than T:A that looking at that style of game. They can't pull people from Halo 4, WoW panda edition, GW2, Planetside 2, Borderlands 2, COD Blacks Ops 2, League of Legends, Dota 2...

i don't know why they'd expect user increases at all at this point, even IF the patches had content, do they really think that someone is going to come play T:A because of a new weapon or skin?

like, that might make a bit more sense if it was 'more user purchases', but it seems silly to expect user increases on a game that's been out for who knows how long

and still feels like its in beta

hey did they fix heavies looking like they're in light armor yet? no? i'm shocked!
 
all the bugs have gotten worse - i get more dry fires now with discs and other weapons than i ever got - and don't get me started about the call-ins that click in but don't fire

or won't let you even try to start them even if you have the credits - until you kill yourself or visit an invy

every thread about that stuff gets completely ignored on the hirez forums, so it's pretty clear they're incapable of fixing it
 
They could get more users if they gave armors more weapon slots and gave everyone all the weapons for free and let people unlock the other crap.

More maps would keep people interested, when they spend a year breaking the same few maps then do poor remakes of old tribes maps because they can't make a half decent one it is pretty sad.

Instead of making 20 disk launchers they could have had 2 well balanced ones, taking a disk launcher changing the speed the disk moves and changing the colour isn't releasing a new weapon, that is what people do with mods.
 
what perks do you guys prefer? i been using looter and survivalist so i do nt need to bother with inv stations and i like the extra grenade
 
depends on the class, really

capping or chasing, reach will make the difference between a cap and a return sometimes so its key imo

looter/surv are both good for classes you stay alive a long time with

quickdraw is good on anything

a bunch of my heavies i use potential energy on

really depends on what you're doing and how the game is playing out
 
cap - reach/ego

chase - rage/quickdraw

raider/LO - i like survivalist/quickdraw, but some ppl like safety third/quickdraw

hof - safety third/quickdraw, safety third/superheavy, rage/quickdraw
