your tv is connected to the internet... it's all very complicated really

From what I can tell it's used to stream stocks/nwes to your TV and some TVs even access youtube now I think.

my tv connects to the internet. pretty much displays news, weather and stocks.

The only cool feature is you can do software updates for it

my tv has a bunch of hdmi ports
and looks good and has a high contrast ratio
and plugs into my computer

i dunno much about the internet

I can update the firmware/software on my TV with a USB stick - it's actually kind of awesome but I only did it once to get Just Scan on the HDMI.

It is the future, but there is so much debate about how its gonna be deployed, it won't be seen for awhile. Every one knows streaming tv will be coming but advertisers and tv shows are all skeptical about jumping on the boat for fear of loss by theft or loss in advertising dollars. I think its useless for now in tvs

Streaming Netflix is already built in to some TVs, Blu-ray players, XBox, etc.

This is the way of the future. Everything will be on demand directly to TV via broadband.
