Secret UK Memo Released About the Iraqi War and Bush's Policies

I'm trying to get this post around to bring attention to the "Downing Street Memo." This memo, released by a British news source, is in regards to creating conditions in Iraq suitable to start a war, as far back as 2002, among other things. The media isn't touching this, which is very upsetting. More information on it can be found here:

Bush isn't addressing this memo at all, which is quite suspicious. Some members of Congress are trying to get a response, but signatures are needed. You can sign at John Conyer's site, http://www.johnconyers.com/index.asp?Type=NONE&SEC={456ECCD5-4EAC-4C6D-8A17-89728B250AE2}

Spread this around, because the media isn't, and damn well should be.

Some have speculated this all along. Those people are called lunatics by the 'mainstream.'

I think what you're sensing is the apathy that also plagues our media.

Btw a different title would have got more people to read it. Nobody has any clue wtf the downing street memo is or who bologna genocide is, and your threads are usually a bit obscure.

At the bottom of the Christian Science Monitor link:

But Thomas Patrick Carroll, a former officer in the Clandestine Service of the CIA, suggests in the conservative Front Page Magazine that those dwelling on the memo may be missing the forest for the trees.

It is simply inexcusable for opinion makers and public intellectuals (e.g., those who made such a fuss about the 'revelations' in the Downing Street memo) not to grasp the strategic imperatives behind what we are doing in Iraq and elsewhere. It's certainly okay to disagree with our strategy, but for supposedly sophisticated commentators to miss the entire point and continue raving about WMD and UN sanctions is simply beyond the pale.

Basically this guy says that the people who ARE outraged are missing the good it did. He also says we should move on.

quit bumping this nonsense. as soon as i read " Bush isn't addressing this memo at all, which is quite suspicious.", i knew the author was a naive douchebag who doesn't know that that response is actually, perfectly normal.
