Shadows

When I see shadows cast by large structures, I notice that they look like ass. Not Jenna Jameson ass either, more like Rosie O'DOnnel's ass. Look at the bridges in the dangerous crossing map - they cast these god-awful jagged shadows. They look terrible. I get similar stuff in my maps.

I went into DX and tried to fiddle with the lighting in the build options. I unchecked 'dither' and tried the various lighting formats. No love. Surely there must be a way to smooth these out though. When I unchecked 'dither' in my minotaur map, stuff seemed a bit smoother, but I can't really tell.

Any ideas?
