is the game good yet? or is it still farmbane?

i stopped playing right before they released the sundancer patch. so how is the game now?
 
i quit for a while and i came back for the end of the chaos server thing, now a new server with a whole new map is coming out, fresh start, alot of big guilds moving there. SP included... just no details yet.

yeah ill consider starting a bard. who all still plays though?

also are the classes balanced? are thieves still gimp? shields get balanced? etc ..

This would echo a number of the questions I have as well ... nothing more irritating as an R5 Warrior with 4,000 hit points then getting owned by an R4 caster ...

as for balanced... heh they are working on it, warlocks are used now, and they get a holy resist buff, so now prelates arent as uber. channys got a 10sec recast on thier uber bolts. shield took a nerf if in o stance. plus you cant block if stunned. thiefs do what they are suppose to and steal... not kill you fag. uh generally they are doing a better job at balancing than other mmorpgs, but no they arent perfect. you still generally have a flavor of the month.

3 new zones have been added, 2 of which have higher level mobs (up to level 48), so leveling from 50-60 can take less time...


but the new map will change lots of things...
 
that one desert zone (south of khar) has the best spawn in the game for overall leveling.

but i think they are going to leave some low-mid zones for people to uh, you know, to level up without PL groups..

Well, by and large melees still get owned by casters, unless you're a barbarian. Shield changes, hmmm...are you talking about healer based casters with shields taking block really high and being untouchable by melees?

Well that's sort of fixed.

1) Offensive stance reduces shield effectiveness for healer casters by like 50-75% (depends on class)

2) stun prevents block/parry/dodge from working.

3) channelers bolt spells have been gimped (10 sec recast time)

Unless you're a bow user, the shield thing for casters really isn't the issue anymore. A lot of guilds are fielding teams of super high dex casters who just stack, AoE things and constantly heal themselves. Their def maxes out around 2000 and they're all healers so the only way to counter them is group debuffs. This has been the flavor of the month(s) on Death anyway for a while.

But, with the new map coming out, for the first two weeks anyway, melees should dominate the hell out of casters because the casters won't be able to train their focus skills over 80% and will have crap for atr.

Oh and yeah, hitting R6 is pretty easy with the new zones, especially the one south of Khar.

You should come back and play, I talked to Refried the other day about coming back. He might be, Koy too. Przn and some of his friends will be around for the new server.
