Goalie

The term Goalie is used to describe the position where a player, usually equiped as Heavy Defense guards the area of the main base entry and tries to bodyblock incoming enemys in order to prevent them from entering & destroying the base facilities or even camping inside. An incoming enemy will be interupted on the way to his target (the base) and most likely be harmed or killed until he, if even possible, enters the base. Especially on Raindance this tactic has a high impact on the way a match goes. The inner base is usually equipped with 6(4) turrets that will most likely kill harmed enemies before they can cause major destruction. The term is very dedicated to the Tribes1 map Raindance since the base entry on this map looks quite like a goal.
