In tribes, the key combination of ctrl-k caused your player to kill himself and respawn.

Usage

A manual suicide is more than just dying in order to respawn with full health. It also features a very very tactical element. A tactical suicide can be performed to achief several goals. Some of those are:

• Friendly flag is dropped and secure, a suicide usually will cause a spawn at the friendly base providing the opportunity to defend and clear the friendly flagstand to secure a save return and avoid regrabs.
• You're somewhere rock bottom, totally lost in gameplay and the respawn will bring you closer to
  • the enemy flag carrier
  • your dropped friendly flag
  • your friendly flag carrier
  • the base, to re-equip
  • avoid the enemy of killing you (duh!)
• Regroup for the next coordinated attack
• basically anything that's useful for your teams current situation
